Cooking can be a daunting task if it isn’t something you normally do. Here are some tips to help make cooking more manageable and less time consuming!
🍲 Planning ahead is a key component in saving time. If you know what you are going to cook for the week, create a shopping list that will save time in the supermarket and at home.
🍲 Plan to cook a meal that will last 2-3 days so you aren’t cooking a new meal each night. If you don’t want to eat the same thing plan to freeze meals to be used at a later date.
🍲 Prep food for the week when you have some free time. Chop vegetables, cook or marinade meats. If you do this 1-3 times a week it can significantly reduce time.
🍲 Try one pot meals. Less cleanup and easier prep.
🍲 Slow cookers are a great way to minimize cooking in the evening. Put in the ingredients in the morning and they are ready to go by dinner time.
🍲 Re-purpose foods already made. For example, if you made chicken one day that to make chicken enchiladas the next day. If you have leftover rice use it the next day make fried rice.
